WCC signs eCRVS contract to bring HERA solution to Lao
Utrecht – NL, January 18, 2022. The WCC Group, a leading provider of advanced solutions for ID/Security government agencies, is pleased to announce the finalization of a deal with the government of Lao. Collectively, the Lao PDR Government, the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs, and the World Bank have selected WCC’s HERA as the solution to administer the Lao National e-Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (eCRVS).
WCC’s HERA was chosen after a global search that considered compliance with the UN’s recommended processes, the need for an out-of-the-box, customizable solution suited to the country’s local conditions, and extensive functionalities regarding many national civil registration events. Mobile capabilities, seamless integration with existing national databases and systems, and a proven object-matching capability were other considerations underpinning the selection of HERA.
“This is a national priority project for Lao PDR and covers important civil registration events such as birth, death, marriages, divorce, migration, and medical certifications for the 7.2 million people living across the country’s 17 provinces, plus our capital, Vientiane.”
“The HERA eCRVS system will help propel Lao PDR into the digital age, benefitting every citizen in the country.”
Madam Kommaly Vilaphanh, Director of the Ministry of Home Affairs Lao PDR
The HERA eCRVS will establish a comprehensive national civil registration platform equipped to record and evaluate key life events accurately. By providing relevant documents and data around these life events, HERA will support the efficient delivery of essential services and help assess the government’s social and economic development plan goals.
“WCC’s HERA eCRVS will be the single source of truth for civil information in Lao. HERA’s modular architecture will comprehensively address the entire range of civil registration elements in the country, establish a clear framework for legal identity, and support government decision-making. We are delighted that the Lao PDR Government has chosen HERA to deliver its eCRVS system and can’t wait to demonstrate the benefits that its data analytics and critical insights can bring to the country.”
Jan Jensen, CEO of the WCC Group
